Acquisition Tax at Your Entered Rates

Use this worksheet to isolate tax in a property budget. It multiplies the entered purchase value by your chosen rate; it does not determine which Korean acquisition-tax rules apply to you.

How to use this tool

Enter the property value in KRW and the acquisition rate as a percentage of that value. The optional education-tax percentage applies to the calculated acquisition tax, not to the home price.

Results and examples

Read the two tax components before using their sum in a budget. Prefilled rates are examples, so verify the taxable base and your applicable rates before preparing a Korean tax filing.

Worked example

KRW 500 million at 1%, with education tax set to 10% of that tax, gives KRW 5 million plus KRW 500,000.

Limitations

  • Rural special tax and registration charges are excluded.
  • Multiple-home surcharges and first-home relief are not assessed.
