How to use this tool
Enter household size and gross monthly income in KRW. Assets, taxes, transfers and household spending are absent, preventing a direct comparison with statistics that use different living-standard definitions.
Results and examples
The ratio is entered income divided by the embedded reference times 100. Statistics Korea or OECD labels do not mean either institution classified you using these inputs; their original definitions need comparison.
Worked example
KRW 5 million against the embedded four-person reference of KRW 6,494,738 gives about 77.0%.
Limitations
- The 2026 table and suitability of institution-labelled bands still require review.
- Welfare eligibility and asset-inclusive middle-class status are not determined.
