How to use this tool
Choose a starting number, display format, position and font size. There is no cover-page exclusion or partial-range control, so check that the selected margin is clear across the entire document.
Results and examples
Inspect the first and last pages of the result. In the total-style format, the denominator is the final displayed number: a three-page file starting at five is numbered from 5/7, rather than using a denominator of three.
Worked example
For five pages starting at 10, the of format runs from 10 / 14 through 14 / 14. Place eleven-point numbers at bottom right and inspect the first, middle and last pages for footer collisions.
Limitations
- Changing the start does not skip numbering a cover; every page is marked.
- Existing page numbers, bookmarks and table-of-contents references are not updated.
