Reading Time Calculator — WPM, Free
Estimate reading time from whitespace-delimited words and an entered words-per-minute rate. The figure supports editorial length comparisons rather than predicting every reader’s actual pace.

How to use this tool
Paste the copy and use a rate of at least 50 WPM. Korean spacing groups several syllables into each segment, so a rate chosen for English can underestimate the time for Korean text.
Results and examples
At 200 WPM, 600 whitespace-delimited words take an estimated three minutes. Seconds are rounded upward, while time spent interpreting figures or equations is not represented by the word count.
Limitations
- Whitespace segmentation differs from Korean morpheme counts and visible character counts.
- Reader familiarity, conceptual difficulty and pauses are not modelled.
