Running Pace | How to use and interpret results

Calculate per-kilometre pace and average speed from kilometres and separate hour/minute/second fields. Additional race-distance times assume the same pace throughout.

How to use this tool

Enter the distance in km and elapsed time in the three fields. Decide whether stops are included and keep that convention consistent when comparing records.

Results and examples

5 km in 25 minutes gives 5:00/km and 12 km/h. The 50-minute 10K projection is a constant-pace multiplication, not a guarantee of no fatigue over a longer distance.

Worked example

5 km in 25 minutes gives 5:00/km and 12 km/h. The 50-minute 10K projection is a constant-pace multiplication, not a guarantee of no fatigue over a longer distance.

Limitations

  • No race model for elevation, temperature or fatigue is used.
  • GPS distance and pause-time accuracy are not audited.
