Lump-Sum Deposit: Simple or Monthly Compound

Compare simple interest with monthly compounding for money deposited once at the start. Unlike an instalment savings plan, the entire principal is present throughout the term.

How to use this tool

Enter KRW principal, months and annual rate, then choose simple or monthly compound interest. The tax-exempt checkbox merely sets withholding to zero; it does not establish eligibility.

Results and examples

Read pre-tax interest separately from the ordinary 15.4% deduction assumption and ending balance. Actual day count, preferential conditions and product rounding can differ from this model.

Worked example

KRW 10 million at 3% simple interest for twelve months earns KRW 300,000; after 15.4%, interest is KRW 253,800.

Limitations

  • Early termination, actual deposit dates and product rounding are excluded.
  • Comprehensive taxation, exemption eligibility and foreign taxation are not determined.
