Monthly Instalment Savings Interest
Calculate each monthly deposit’s own interest period. Treating the entire final principal as though it were present from day one would overstate interest compared with this instalment model.

How to use this tool
Enter KRW monthly contribution, months and annual rate. The first deposit earns for the full term and the last for one month, a beginning-of-month simple-interest approximation; tax-free selection does not assess eligibility.
Results and examples
Principal is monthly amount times months, while interest uses the sum of remaining periods. Separate the ordinary 15.4% deduction from after-tax payout and compare actual deposit dates with the assumption.
Worked example
KRW 100,000 monthly for twelve months at 3% earns KRW 19,500 before tax on KRW 1.2 million contributed.
Limitations
- Late deposits, preferential rates, actual days and monthly compounding are excluded.
- Tax advantages, exemption eligibility and comprehensive taxation need separate checking.
