How to use this tool
Start at a comfortable low volume and press after the unpredictable cue. Early presses require another attempt; use the same device and input method for meaningful session comparisons.
Results and examples
Average and minimum milliseconds describe this session only. Faster responses do not prove better hearing, and slower responses are not evidence of hearing loss; formal assessment serves a different purpose.
Worked example
Trials of 200, 220, 210, 230 and 240 ms have a 220 ms average and 200 ms minimum.
Limitations
- Audio, Bluetooth, browser and input latency are included.
- There is no clinical pure-tone or frequency-specific threshold assessment.
Data handling
Processing stays in the current browser tab; the site does not upload tool input for the calculation itself.
Frequently asked questions
Does louder volume improve accuracy?
No. Keep a comfortable volume and stop if uncomfortable.
Is this a hearing score?
No. It is elapsed time between the cue and your press.
