How to use this tool
Select a PDF and enter the properties you want to replace. Blank or whitespace-only fields retain their existing values, so this interface must not be used as a way to erase personal information or anonymize a document.
Results and examples
Inspect the downloaded file in a viewer's document-properties panel. The cover and page text remain unchanged, and updating these fields does not establish that other metadata or hidden information has been removed.
Worked example
Set a report title to Annual Review and author to Research Team, then inspect the saved document properties. When changing only the title, leaving author empty retains its existing value rather than deleting it.
Limitations
- Printed titles and author text on pages are unaffected by metadata edits.
- Blank inputs cannot clear old values; this is not comprehensive metadata anonymisation.
