How to use this tool
Enter the original value and percentage. Positive increases and negative decreases, so check the sign for a discount; the calculator does not convert the units of your number.
Results and examples
New value is original × (1 + percentage/100), and the added amount is the difference. A 10% increase followed by a 10% decrease cannot be collapsed to zero because the base changes.
Worked example
Applying 12% to 250 adds 30 and produces 280.
Limitations
- Successive changes and intermediate rounding are not tracked automatically.
- The tool does not assess physical plausibility or pricing policy.
