How to use this tool
Provide the subtitle text and select the target format. WebVTT NOTE, STYLE or REGION blocks and unusual cue identifiers may need manual editing because simple timestamp conversion may not satisfy the destination player.
Results and examples
Load the result alongside the actual video and verify start and end times. Timestamp punctuation changes do not generate missing sequence numbers or realign dialogue, so validate the format before publishing captions.
Worked example
The SRT timing 00:00:01,500 --> 00:00:03,000 receives decimal points when converted to VTT. Convert a simple VTT to SRT, verify the WEBVTT header is removed and test actual cues in the player.
Limitations
- Complex NOTE, STYLE, REGION and positioning data are not semantically translated into SRT.
- There is no translation, speech recognition or timing resynchronisation.
