How to use this tool
Enter finite numeric times in seconds. Start must be at least zero and end must be greater than start; also check that the requested interval makes sense within the source duration before processing.
Results and examples
Listen to the beginning and end of the MP3 and verify its length. Requested duration is calculated as end minus start, while MP3 boundary behavior means sample-accurate editing requires an additional check in an audio editor.
Worked example
For a sixty-second interview, start 10 and end 25 produces a fifteen-second MP3 segment. Adjust boundaries in 0.1-second steps, such as 10.2–25.4, then listen for cut-off words at both ends.
Limitations
- Output is re-encoded as 192 kbps MP3 regardless of the original format.
- There is no automatic silence detection or word-boundary alignment.
