Upscale Image 2× — Bilinear, Honest
Enlarge an image to two, three or four times its dimensions using high-quality canvas interpolation. This creates a larger pixel copy rather than applying an AI model to reconstruct missing detail.

How to use this tool
Choose the image and scale. Both dimensions grow, so four-times scaling creates sixteen times as many pixels; consider memory use and the actual required output size before enlarging a large source.
Results and examples
JPEG inputs produce JPEG, while other inputs produce PNG. Inspect enlarged edges and lettering without equating more pixels with recovered detail; unnecessary enlargement can mainly increase the file size.
Worked example
Enlarge a 600×400 PNG at 2× to produce 1200×800 PNG pixels. A 400×300 JPEG at 3× produces a 1200×900 JPEG; inspect enlarged lettering and noise.
Limitations
- This is browser interpolation, not an AI super-resolution model restoring missing detail.
- A 4× factor creates sixteen times the pixels; JPEG inputs stay JPEG and other formats output PNG.

Frequently asked questions
Is output always PNG?
No. An image/jpeg source is encoded as JPEG.
Does it accurately recover blurry letters?
Interpolation does not recognise or reconstruct missing text content.
