Split a Bill with a Selectable Tip Base
Add tax and tip to a subtotal and split it evenly. Selecting whether tip applies before or after tax makes the difference visible rather than assuming every receipt uses the same base.

How to use this tool
Enter USD subtotal, tax and tip percentages, people and tip base. Using an already taxed grand total as subtotal adds tax again, so check the pre-tax receipt line first.
Results and examples
Read tax, tip, grand total and each share separately. Mandatory service charges have no separate field and individual orders are not tracked, so actual sharing agreements may differ.
Worked example
USD 100 plus 10% tax and 20% tip split by two gives USD 65 each before-tax tipping or USD 66 after-tax tipping.
Limitations
- Individual orders and coupon discounts are not allocated.
- Tipping practice and mandatory-service-charge treatment are not determined.
