How to use this tool
Enter USD pre-tax amount and select the state. Without an address or product category, the form cannot determine food or clothing exemptions, online-transaction sourcing or other special treatment.
Results and examples
Tax is the snapshot percentage times the amount, added for the total. The displayed 1 January 2026 basis is fixed and must not be described as a live rate incorporating later changes.
Worked example
At a 6% general state-rate scenario, USD 100 gives USD 6 tax and USD 106 total.
Limitations
- Local and special-district taxes and product exemptions are excluded.
- Nexus, sourcing and filing obligations are not determined.
