Body-Fat Estimate from Tape Measurements
This calculator estimates body fat from height and circumferences without requiring body weight. Differences between waist and neck measurements strongly influence the result, so consistent technique matters.

How to use this tool
Use centimetres in metric mode and inches in US mode. The male equation uses height, waist and neck; the female equation also needs hip circumference. Do not interchange waist and hip values.
Results and examples
The percentage is a regression estimate, not a health-risk verdict. If the tool rejects a value outside its output range, check your units; passing validation still does not prove clinical accuracy.
Worked example
Male measurements of 180 cm height, 90 cm waist and 40 cm neck give an estimate of about 18.5%.
Limitations
- The original validation population and measurement landmarks need further review.
- Moving the tape to a different position can change results without real fat change.
