MP3 to WAV Converter — Free, No Upload
Decode an MP3 to 16-bit PCM WAV when an audio editor needs an uncompressed working file. This changes the storage format of the decoded signal; it does not reconstruct the recording before MP3 compression.

How to use this tool
Select a playable MP3 and check the requirements of the destination project. This screen has no sample-rate or channel selector, so inspect those properties in the resulting WAV when the editor needs a particular specification.
Results and examples
Open the WAV in the intended editor and compare its duration and channels with the source. A larger PCM file is expected and should not be interpreted as evidence that lost audio detail has been recovered.
Worked example
Convert an interview MP3 when an editor requires a 16-bit PCM WAV input. If 44.1 kHz stereo is retained, sixty seconds of 16-bit PCM contains about 10.6 MB of audio data before the header.
Limitations
- Converting to WAV cannot restore detail already lost during MP3 compression.
- There is no sample-rate or channel selector, and the WAV may be much larger than its source.
Data handling
Processing stays in the current browser tab; the site does not upload tool input for the calculation itself.

Frequently asked questions
Does WAV recover the original lossless master?
No. It stores the decoded MP3 signal as PCM without undoing earlier losses.
Can I choose 24-bit output?
No. This implementation outputs pcm_s16le, or 16-bit PCM.
