Adult TDEE by Activity Factor
Estimate daily expenditure by multiplying adult resting energy by an activity factor. This is neither an expenditure measurement nor a nutrition prescription, and the selected factor strongly influences the answer.

Accepted after conversion: 30–300 kg (about 66–661 lb).
Accepted after conversion: 120–230 cm (about 47–91 in).
How to use this tool
Choose units and enter age, equation sex coefficient, weight, height and activity level. Consider everyday movement as well as exercise when forming the assumption; it does not automatically establish a food target.
Results and examples
Distinguish TDEE, resting energy and the sevenfold weekly figure. Weekly energy assumes the same activity every day and does not represent separate exercise-day and rest-day observations.
Worked example
A 30-year-old male at 70 kg and 170 cm has a 1,617.5 resting estimate; factor 1.2 gives 1,941 kcal daily.
Limitations
- Primary-paper review of Mifflin and the activity-factor populations remains outstanding.
- It is unsuitable for dietary planning in growth, pregnancy, disease or eating disorders.

Frequently asked questions
Is weekly energy separately predicted?
No. It is seven times the daily estimate.
Does stable weight prove the equation wrong?
Consider actual intake, activity records and individual prediction error together.
